Monkey Business

We are making our tour of Tulsa Parks :)  I now understand why parents like to take their kiddos to the park.  They love it, it is a good break from the routine of life, and most importantly, a well-timed park playdate leads to a worn out toddler, which leads to  a nice long nap!!!!  Yesterday we went to check out the the new playground in our neighborhood...and Aaron even got to come along for a change!  We had a great family Sunday Funday :)

Aaron and his little mini-me.

He loves going down slides.  He knows how to climb the stairs by himself...

then turn around at the top...

and slide down!

Who knows...just being his crazy, loud self :)

Learning how to climb the ropes.

Sweet little smile :)

Randomness

Because our lives have been chaotic and completely random lately.  Here is a collection of happenings over the past week.  The only theme here...RANDOM!

Bye, bye snow...hello warmer weather.  Ayson was so excited to finally be able to go outside and play.  This was one of several trips we have made to the park recently.

Check it out...that is nine high!  Pretty impressive, I must say;)

Ayson's new obsession is Yo Gabba Gabba.  This green crazy looking thing is from the show, and he loves him very much!  I came back in the living room and found him sitting in the chair with his new friend...Thanks Mimi :)

Roby makes a great pillow too!

There has been a lot of home improvement projects going on lately around here, as we are gearing up to put our house on the market.  And, of course, Ayson is a big helper!

No wonder he is such a climber...he learned from the best ;)

Great...his new favorite place for his finger.  This kid is ALL boy!

He thought it was hilarious to pull this down over his eyes, then back off again.  DORK!

Dinner date with Braeden :)

Look at these two...they seriously could be brothers!  Both blond with the same unimpressed expression on their face.

And finally, bath time with Frey Frey.  You are welcome boys...we will break these out in about 20 years :)

18 Month Check-up & other Dr. Visits

Ayson had his 18 month check-up this morning...little man is cruising along.  He is stuck at 20lbs...been there for awhile now, so his weight of 20lbs 10ozs is still in the lower 3rd percentile on the non-adjusted scale.  Height is 30 3/4 inches (10th percentile) and his melon is in the 41st percentile.  We are trying desperately to put some weight on this kid, but he is so active that it is nearly impossible!  Plus, he is not the biggest fan of eating.  Who has time to eat, when you could be playing :)  All kidding aside though, they are not worried about his weight, so we will do our best to not worry about it either (hahaha, like that will be that easy for Aaron and I)!

He got his last immunization today until he turns four.  WooHoo!  I'm sure he will enjoy not being poked every time we go in.  As far as everything else goes, Ayson is caught up in every area except speech.  Absolutely amazing, given the start this little guy had.  So, we are going to start seeing a speech therapist for him soon.  This is not anything we are overly concerned with, he has just been a little behind the curve, so we are going to try and help him out.

This was also the last time we will probably see Dr. Gordon before we move to PC.  We are really going to miss her.  She has been so great, and will be hard to replace.

And finally, some really exciting news.  We had a follow-up with Ays's pediatric cardiologist a few weeks ago, and the hole in his heart (PFO) has completely closed!!!!  No more worries there, so he has been released from their care.  YAY!

Now that you are up to speed, enjoy some cute bath pics of this crazy kid!

Little Gym Fun

Ayson has been having a blast at Little Gym.  Each week he learns something new and improves on skills he has previously learned.  Last Saturday, Ayson had a make-up class, so Grammy and Aunt LouLou got to come along :)  So, of course, I took advantage and had them snap some pictures!

Practicing his "donkey kick."  He is really good at keeping his arms straight...

And LOVES practicing these.

He can't stop giggling and smiling :)

TaDa!

Grammy and Ays listening to instructions.

Crawling under the tunnel

Walking across the beam...so proud of him!  He will now get up there by himself, and is very good at putting one foot in front of the other.  In fact, he is so comfortable up there, that the instructor had him doing more advanced skills like turning around and doing a forward roll off the end.

Climbing the rock wall.  He has just about got this figured out.

Doing a pullover on the bar.  He's got a great grip!

Just goofing around at the end of class :)

Steps for Creating the Perfect Valentine

Step 1...contemplate your design.

Step 2...taste the crayon.  Only the good kind will work.

Step 3...begin scribbling.  It's best if you use the non-sharpened end.

Step 4...take a break to pose for a cute picture.

Step 5...scribble a little on the table so mommy has something to clean later in the day.

Step 6...take another break to do a happy dance.

Step 7...scribble, scribble, and scribble some more!

Step 8...and Viola!  Your masterpiece is complete.  It's sure to make any dada smile ;)

(With any luck Ayson will get Aaron's artistic drawing ability, and not mine...haha!)

Happy Valentine's Day from the Wilcoxes :)

Happy Friday

Here's some cute videos of little man while we were snowed in.  The first two are of Ayson dancing.  He has evolved his dancing style from bouncing, to a more subdued swaying back and forth (thanks to Mickey Mouse for teaching him how to hula).

We have to try and catch him when he's not looking because if he sees the camera, he immediately stops what he is doing...stink pot!  He is dancing to Yo Gabba Gabba.  Darn this weird show and its catchy songs...Aaron and I find our self singing songs from it all the time :)

He also loves to dance while Aaron is playing Rock Band!

This next video is Ayson taking a few sips of my drink.  I was drinking Diet Code Red Mountain Dew, and he wouldn't leave me alone, so I let him have a sip :)  His face is too funny!

And finally, this Aysman being a big helper.  He loves to be involved in anything that is going on in the kitchen.  He saw Aaron putting some groceries away, and he wanted to help too.

18 Months!

Wow...we can't believe this crazy kiddo is already 1.5 years old.  Time flies when you are busy wrangling a toddler!  And since this kiddo is getting so big, and so independent, he has been introduced to "time out."  He has only been sent there a handful of times, but he already knows what "time out" means, and will go sit in his designated spot.  However, he thinks its hysterical, so I'm not quite sure that it is having the desired effect.  In fact, he makes us laugh every time we put him there...this is typical Ays in time out...looks pretty miserable, huh?!

Ayson is celebrating his 1/2 birthday by staring at the snow.  Yes, more snow.  Yuck!  We cannot wait until this stuff melts off so we can get outside.  Seriously winter...we are SO over you.

We were lucky enough to be able to go to Little Gym yesterday before the snow moved in.  We had to miss last week because of the weather, so Ayson was so excited to go to his class!  Check out his shirt, it says "Far Out Brussel Sprout."  It was a big hit, and everyone in his class wants one...Thanks Aunt Alli :)

Just can't get over how old he looks some days in his big kid clothes!

Happy 18 months to our very independent, always energetic, loving, sweet, handsome, cool, and fun little man.  We love you very much little dude!

Snow, Snow & More Snow

This is what 14 inches of snow looks like on our block...craziness!

Aaron had to do some serious shoveling to our driveway and our street in order to be able to get to work.  Too bad Dr.'s don't get snow days too!

Ayson was finally well enough to take outside for a few minutes today.

He liked the snow until he tried to walk and couldn't get anywhere :)

Aside from our 5 minutes outside this morning, we have been couped up since Monday and are just trying to keep from getting too bored.  Colanders can be very entertaining...they make great hats.

Climbing is fun too...especially when it means he can get to the remote.

Whenever he can get his hands on one, he will start pushing buttons, and stare at the TV and wait for something to happen.  Smart kiddo!

Running around the house with his monkey.

And finally, he has mastered his stacker.  Now we are working on identifying the different colors.
