Outdoor Fun

Just a typical fall evening at our house...we are loving the cooler weather!  You know it's perfect outside when you can throw on a pair of shorts and a hoodie :)

Now, if we could just get some more rain.  I framed this pic of our pond so you can't really see how sad it looks right now.  One positive side of have a semi-dry pond across the street from a golf course...Aaron may never have to buy golf balls ever again ;)

Letters & Puzzles

Alrighty, here's another video of Ays showing off his letter skills.  I know, I know, you've already seen him point at letters before, but please allow me to be annoying about it one more time.  What can I say...we are just a little impressed with him ;)  He's playing a letter game on my iPhone that is different each time you play.  It's a really great app that displays letters, asks them to identify a certain one, then praises them when they get it right!  It also gets progressively harder, which never seems to throw Ays off.  (Sorry, about the quality, the camera was having a hard time picking up some of the letters.  If you click on "YouTube" within the video box, you can view it at a larger size, which makes it easier to see.)

The second video is of him doing a puzzle.  This is also something that has clicked with him in the last month.  You can pretty much give him any puzzle and he will figure it out.  You can just see those gears spinning in his cute lil' head :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Oklahoma State Fair

It's finally fall, and that means fair time!  We, along with Grammy and Aunt LouLou took Ays to the Oklahoma State Fair last weekend to check out all the animals, food, rides, and (what Ays was most excited about) Toy Story 3 On Ice!!!!

Grammy and Ays took in the show, and while I don't have any pics from their little adventure, Grammy said that Ayson had a blast and sat through the entire 2+ hour show!  Holy smokes...we couldn't believe it!  It really must have been great, because Mr. Ants in his Pants won't sit through anything :)

This was also a proud day for us because it was the first time since we have started potty training, that we were away from the house for the whole day.  When we are around the house, and out running errands he is really good about telling us "I pee pee," so we were hopeful he would do well, but we weren't sure how it was going to go. Happily, he did CRAZY GOOD!  He did not have one single accident the whole day!  He told us every time he had to go, and as a result of not having a toilet to sit on every time he had to go, he now stands up to pee!  Which, by the way, is hilariously cute, and so much cleaner!!  We are still putting him in pull-ups during naps and and night time, but he does great during the day, and is even getting better at doing #2 in the potty.  We are super proud of him...Go Aysman :)

Ok, so here are the fair pics...enjoy!

Yep...we were "those parents" with their kid on a leash!  Such a brilliant invention :)

Cute!

And now with Daddy...the best part of this was seeing Aaron stuffed into the tiny little kid car.  HILARIOUS!

ABC's

Mr. Smarty pants is really into letters right now.  Anyone who has spent any time with Ays knows that his favorite letter is "B."  He loves to push any kind of button, and since he can't say button, he calls them "B."  As a result, we hear the letter "B" one million times a day, and any time he sees the letter, he will point it out.  Hobby Lobby is one of his favorite stores right now...seriously!  He's in "B" heaven when he sees the sign :)

He loves books, magazines and newspapers, and will, of course, always point out all the "B's," but yesterday he surprised us and started pointing out letters that we didn't even know he knew!  Apparently all of the work we have been doing on the alphabet has been soaking in.

He grabbed one of my magazines (quality toddler reading material...haha), so we decided to put his skills to the test.  If you listen closely you can hear him say some of the letters, and he even says and points out a lowercase "i" at the end of the video.

We are so impressed with our smart lil' stinker :)

Quack, Quack

As promised...here are the pics of Ayson feeding the ducks and geese.  Now that we have hopefully seen our last 100 degree day, we will be doing this more often.  He loved it!

He loved feeding them...

throwing bread at them (this kids got quite an arm!)...

chasing them...

and spending time with mama & dada :)

Ayson is also doing great with potty training!  We seriously couldn't have expected it to go any better.  While he is awake, he rarely has an accident, and will tell us when he has to go, without being reminded.  "I pee pee" is the new phrase of the house ;)  We went for our first true outing today since starting potty training, and it was a success!  More than two hours away from the house, in big boy undies and no accidents!  He did manage to miss the toilet and "water" the Hobby Lobby bathroom floor ;)  Do boys ever learn how to aim?! Haha!
