The Easter Bunny & Blue Eyes

Ayson had a playdate at the mall today with Braeden, Isabel and Avery. He had such a good time shopping for his Easter suit! It's seriously the cutest thing ever...you will just have to wait until Easter for pics...but for now, I'll just say that the boy looks very HANDSOME in pink :)

Of course the Easter Bunny was at the mall, so we had to get pictures. I really do not care for the Easter Bunny...ok, he really creeps me out! But, since we couldn't get any pictures with Santa, this was the next holiday in line. Ayson was a happy little dude for the picture. I'm pretty sure if it were me, I would have been screaming my head off =)

What a face! Those baby blues will get you every time!

and another...can't get enough! Still blue and hopefully they will stay that way :)

The Past Few Days

Ayson pretty much loves anything that he can get into his mouth. Reading to him is a lot more fun...and challenging :) He likes to help turn the pages...or mainly just chew on them :)

Loving on his friend Mr. Gloworm...this is still one of his favorite toys. A definite "go to" for mom and dad when he has his fussy pants on :)

Here he is again checking out dada's receiver...no matter where we put him on the floor, he somehow winds up checking it out. Can you blame him?! There's so many fun buttons to push!

It was so beautiful yesterday that we had to take advantage of it and went on a nice long walk. Little man enjoyed it so much that he fell asleep...ahh that must be the life :)

Little Talker

Ever since Ayson discovered how to say dada, he hasn't stopped! He also loves to make the Da-da motion with his mouth, but not make any noise...he does it a little at the end of this video. It cracks us up!

He is also starting to be a little rollie pollie. You can't leave him alone now, and expect him to be in the same spot when you come back in the room. This is how I found him yesterday. I left him in the living room for no more than a minute and this is how I found him. He had to roll over about four times to get there. I think it's about time that we start baby proofing this house!

First Words...

Da-da! Ayson surprised us last night and said his first words!!!!! It seriously brought tears to my eyes. We were driving home from dinner with Maria & Michael last night and he was chatterboxing away.
So, like we always do, we were talking back to him saying ma-ma & da-da, etc. Out of no where he said, "da-da!" So exciting!!!!! He has said it several more times since then too!

He obviously doesn't know why he is saying it yet, and of course Aaron has to be "medical" about it and say it was "non-specific," but I don't care...we are counting it :)

YAY
BABY AYSON!!!!!!

Ballcap Boy

We have been pretty busy the past couple of days! We have been taking Ayson out in public a little more and more lately. It's been nice to get out of the house and Ayson absolutely loves to check out new places! Ayson and I went to the mall for the first time on Thursday afternoon...his 14.5lb self was making some of his onsies look like muscle shirts :) So, we set out to find him some summer gear!

One of our purchases. I figured that since we take a lot of walks, a hat is going to be a necessity!

He loves it and looks too cute with it on. We're lucky he tolerates new things so well!!!!

March of Dimes Kickoff!

We were so excited to be asked to attend the March of Dimes fundraising kickoff this afternoon. Aaron, Ayson and I headed to Bartlesville so that Ayson could be introduced as the Ambassador. Little man looked too cute in his sweater vest :) He was so good during the luncheon...but, right when they were getting ready to introduce him, he started to poop. And for any of you who have seen him poop, you can definitely tell that's what he's doing. He grunts and his whole head gets bright red...hahaha...perfect timing :)

Ayson's picture and story are on several of their promotional materials. We got our hands on some of the fundraising envelopes :) (Sorry, for the crappy picture, but you get the idea) He will also be on their posters!!!

Ayson got a new friend named "Scout." This little puppy is pretty cool. He sings and does different activities. But the coolest part is; it is personali
zed. He spells out Ayson's name in a song, and says his favorite colors and food. Right now, he asks Ayson if his favorite food is squash :) He loves to talk to his new friend.

Ayson and his sippy cup. He has caught on to this really fast! He's an old pro already.

Squash & Sippy Cups

Ayson made it through his first batch of peas and now we are on to squash :) Ever since we introduced veggies, Ayson has decided that eating isn't so bad. He is opening his mouth now, and swallowing way more than he is spitting back out.

I took this picture last night to send to Aaron while he was on call...happy little dude who ate ALL of his peas and oatmeal! I was so proud of him :)

This was his first bite of squash
tonite. He's so funny because he never really makes a sour face with new food. He just takes a bite and gets ready for the next one.

This was him, literally five bites later. I put another scoop on the spoon, looked up and he was asleep! Geez! So we let him sleep, and when he woke up he finished his peas and squash. Only a child of Aaron's could fall asleep anywhere like that :)

We have started letting Ayson try to drink from a sippy cup. He puts everything in his mouth and tries to hold his bottles so it seemed like the perfect time to introduce it. He does a really good job of bringing it to his mouth and even has gotten a little bit out of it. He's getting so big and independent!

Thanks Auntie A for my new
onsie. It matches my pretty baby blues!

And finally, he looked so sweet and innocent after his bath last night...couldn't resist snapping this pic. I just love these sweet little moments :)

Peas

We introduced Ayson to first foods tonight :) We started him out with peas and oatmeal...sounds yummy, huh?! We weren't sure what he was going to think about it...they smelled horrible! But as you can see, he didn't even make a sour face.

After the first bite, he was a happy little dude. We think he actually liked them. We are glad he liked his first taste of veggies :)

Towards the end of dinner time, it became a game of trying to spit peas all over me. This kid has quite a personality already :)

Little Screamer

Ayson has really discovered his voice...and by voice, I mean his loud screaming voice. He loves to scream in the middle of laughing. It is so funny! Who knows what he is saying to his poor little cow :)

March for Babies

You may have noticed the March of Dimes badge on the right side of our blog. We are so excited to be participating in the March for Babies Walk in Bartlesville in May. We chose this March for Babies walk because Ayson is the ambassador for Washington County.
This is a cause that is very near and dear to us because of the issues we faced with Ayson's prematurity. The money donated will go to help tiny little miracles like Ayson, to get the best start possible. We hope you can join us at the walk, or donate, or both to help us reach our goal of $500. If not, don't worry, we will still love you :)

To join our
team, click on the badge at the right and sign up. You can sign up to walk, donate, or both! Donating is easy!!!! There should be a donating box on the right side of the March of Dimes page. You can choose a preset amount or your own amount. From there, you can either use paypal or a credit card. I made an initial donation this way, and it was so easy and has already been credited to our team!!! If you prefer not to go that route, you can give the donation to Aaron or I and we can take care of it.
We hope you can join us for the walk...it will be so neat to show our support for such a fantastic organization and our love for one amazing little dude. Not to mention...great exercise :)
Aaron and I are very excited to be a part of March for Babies this year and hope you will join our team!
Thank you for helping us give all babies a healthy start! And if you have any question, please feel free to ask and I will do all I can to help you out.

Oh, and one more thing...GO POKES! We have our orange on and are cheering loud :)

Soooooo Big!

Ayson is growing growing growing! He was so excited to finally be able to wear some cool new clothes that he got from Aunt Alli and little Miss Makinzie way back when he came home from the NICU. This cute little onsie came all the way from Australia...thanks Aunt Alli! He's officially an Aussie Mate now :)

Playing with his new friend. It's as big as he is right now!!!

He loves this onsie from miss Makinzie. How cute! It matches his pretty baby blues :)

Such a little flirt!

Cat Napper

Ahh, to be able to take naps again. Wouldn't that be nice =) Ayson used to be a good long napper, sleeping anywhere from 2-3 hours. Not so much anymore! He likes to take about four little 20 minute power naps throughout the day. He is the sweetest little sleeper though. Look at that face, so peaceful.

Since he has figured out how to roll over, he refuses to stay on his back. We thought this was so cute. He fell asleep on his side with his arms wrapped around his little blanky.

Sophie joined Ayson for a little nap in the afternoon sun

Hello Sun!

We have been enjoying the sun and warmer weather the past couple of days! We went for a 3 mile walk with Braeden and Sheri around LaFortune Park today. The boys were so good. They looked like they enjoyed it as much as we did.

Ayson also got to try out his new shades during our walk. He LOVES them!!! He cracks me up in these things. He thinks he's a pretty cool dude.

After our walk :)

We also had a playdate yesterday with some other new additions to the OSU Family Medicine Residency family. We had so much fun with Sheri, Braeden, Diane, Isabel, Karie & Avery. I'm sure we will have lots more of these in our future :)

Look at how cute they all are!

All the mommies and their babers :)

Ayson also wants to say a big CONGRATS to his daddy for being selected as a Chief Resident next year. We are so proud of you and we love you so much!!!!!!!
