Wishing everyone a "rocking" New Years! (Sorry, I couldn't resist...I'm feeling cheesy today!)

Christmas 2010
To say we had an amazing Christmas would be an understatement...well most of us did anyway! Poor Aaron had a G.I. bug (as he would call it) and was Captain Pukey Pants all Christmas Day. He kept a watchful eye from the other side of the couch during all the present opening festivities. Don't let that smile fool you...he was MISERABLE, and had to miss out on most of the day :(
Despite his sickness we had a great time seeing all of our families. Here's a little looksy at our holiday. Enjoy the pics...there are so many!!!

Merry Christmas to All
This time of year is always filled with lots of family, fun, and traditions new & old. This year has certainly been no exception.
We got a kick start on the "family & fun" last weekend at my graduation. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing family who has supported me the past 2.5 years while I was working on my Masters. All the hard work definitely paid off, and I am now the proud owner of an MS in Mass Communications. Can't wait to put that degree to work in the future once we get settled in PC!
Now, on to traditions. We started a new tradition this year of Santa pictures. This was Ayson's very first encounter with Santa, and as you can tell, he wasn't too keen on the experience. However, this picture absolutely cracks us up, and it will be framed...it's just too classic to not be enjoyed every Christmas from now on :)
Of course we have our yearly tradition of Christmas cards, and well, you know how that experience turned out. But we did get a good one, and it has to be my favorite one yet!
And finally, for the last five years we have gone to see the lights at Rhema Bible College. They do an amazing job, and if you haven't been...you need to go! We took Ayson last year, but he was obviously too young to care. So, this year we got out the stroller and walked around the whole campus. He was so excited...eyes wide open...smiling...and chatting away the whole time. It was so sweet :) Here are a few of our favorites.
"Do not touch the lights." Too bad he can't read yet ;) |

Now with dada...such a happy kiddo. |
Happy Holidays to all. We hope yours is filled with family, fun and traditions.

Taking Things to A Whole New Level
The quality of pictures on this blog just increased dramatically (I hope)! I would like to introduce you to the most beautiful camera I've ever seen...the Nikon D90. This lovely little piece of photography heaven is my graduation gift from my family. Geez, if I would have known this was waiting for me at the end of grad school, I would have finished in one semester ;) The only thing it can't do is take a picture of itself, but if it could, it would look even prettier!
Even though I have wanted a digital SLR for what seems like forever, I must say that Aaron and the rest of the family did a great job of orchestrating this because I was completely surprised! It was definitely the perfect gift. There is a lot to figure out on this mama jama, but I cannot wait to learn everything about it...
I have never been more excited to read a user's manual in my whole life!!!
So for now, here are a few pics that I have taken this morning just playing around with it. Yay for fun new toys :)

Because I'm a dork, and have the strange urge to make one of these every year...here is this year's Wilcox Elf Yourself video :) I swear this never gets old! Enjoy!

Crappy Croup
We have been doing a whole lot of this for about the past week. Poor little dude was getting over a cold, then he came down with croup. Needless to say, it hasn't been too fun for Ays, or mom & dad :(
Today he seems to be feeling better, so here's to hoping he is on the mend! However, there is one plus to having a sick kiddo...we are getting plenty of cuddle time :)

Just had to share this cute little video of Ayson stacking his blocks. He's an architectural genius I tell ya ;)

A Few Randoms
Not too much new going on. We are passing a sicky bug around our house, so between being sick, Aaron being on teaching service and me finishing up my masters, we haven't had too much time for anything fun! We did bundle up and play outside the other day though. Ayson loves being outside :)
Little Man also got his very own chair from Nana & Dado Wilcox. How cute is this?! He loves to hang out in it after he wakes up in the morning and from his naps. It's the perfect size!
And finally, we got a new Flip camera, so we were just trying it out and managed to get a cute video of Ays splashing around in the tub. He likes to stomp his feet, so that's what he is doing at the end (thank goodness for no slip bath mats!)

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
After our whirlwind Thanksgiving weekend, we are back in Tulsa and getting ready for the next holiday. After swearing that we weren't going to put up a tree this year (Ayson is Grabby McGrabberson, and he pulled papa's tree over on top of him this weekend) we decided it just wouldn't be the same without one. We put it up in the breakfast nook, so it wouldn't be as easily accessible, but where we could still enjoy it.
Ayson "helped" me decorate it while Aaron put the lights up outside :)
Such a sweet little helper.

Path of Destruction
Aaron and I joke that Ays is a little destroyer :) You can always tell where he's been because he leaves a path of destruction behind him. He's seriously worse than a raccoon! If he can get a drawer open or pull something off a shelf...he will!
He loves to pull his clothes out of his dresser...
and this would be an hourly scene around our house. No matter how hard I try or how close I watch him, this always seems to happen. He is QUICK!
Look how proud he is of himself!
Eating, as always with Ayson, is still an experience every time. Once he gets bored of eating, he starts feeding the dogs and making silly faces.
Basically doing everything he can to avoid eating ;)
He has learned how to get his own snacks...which is pretty cool! I love this snack holder! It might be the best invention ever.
The lid keeps the snacks in the bowl, while allowing him to reach through it to get his snacks. And he is all about it! He loves to be able to grab a big boy snack all by himself.

The Joys of Family Pics
Before we had Ayson, choosing pictures was relatively easy. Since adults know how to smile and look at the camera, you could be picky...Analyze every aspect of each picture and choose the one the was "most flattering" of everyone involved. Toddlers teach you that you can no longer be so critical of yourself. If everyone is smiling AND looking at the camera...it is a winner!
We went out with Angela recently to try and get a Christmas Card worthy picture. Literally, out of 109 pictures...we ended up with one. ONE! One picture that had all of us smiling and looking at the camera. Ayson was a bit of a challenge. He didn't want to smile, and definitely did not want to look at the camera. Oh well, at least we got one...and 108 more to look back on and laugh about all the new and fun challenges Ayson brings us on a daily basis. Here are some of our favorite, unedited outtakes. ENJOY!

Ok, so I edited this one a little :) I just love it! It was just a random unposed picture that turned out amazing! |

This was my absolute favorite spot. So pretty! Ayson would never look at the camera though...little stinker! |
A forced tickle smile. |
Thank you Ang, for enduring our dysfuntionalness :) Now, you will all just have to wait for the Christmas cards to see the winning picture.
