Busy Weekend

We had a pretty eventful weekend last weekend! Aaron was on call Friday and Saturday night, so Ayson and I went to Bartlesville on Friday night and stayed with Mimi. It was Ayson's first car ride that lasted longer than 5 minutes...and I didn't hear a peep from him the whole trip :) Hopefully he will be that good when we head to AC later this week.
On Saturday, Auntie Abbey stopped by for a visit. Ayson broke Abbey in to her Auntie role when he spit up all over the place while she was feeding him :) Then, Ayson and I went to Claremore and stayed with the Leigh clan. It was great to get out of the house, and Angela even stayed up with little man on Saturday so I could sleep...now that is a great friend!!!! I'm convinced now that sleep may just be the best present you can give a new parent :)
We are really excited to go to Ark City for Arkalalah this week. It's been a while since we have been home, and it will be Ayson's first trip to AC. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Here are some pics from the last couple of days...enjoy!

Daddy reading to Ayson. He loves to be read to...he just stares up at you the whole time. Thanks to everyone who gave books to our little man.

My obsession with the red hat continues. I just couldn't resist!

I love this picture of my two favorite boys!

Such a BIG little man

Ayson and I had a fun day. He is starting to show his little personality already. I got a few small smiles out of him...so cute! He has to be really awake, but he definitely gave me some reaction smiles, which is so fun!!! I was also able to catch him turning his head over. His little neck is remarkably strong already.
Angela and baby Theaden stopped by today. Theaden and Ayson hung out for a little while...they are already best friends. Here are some pics and video from our day.

Here is Ayson turning his head. Hang in there...he doesn't actually do it until about 20 seconds in

Just hanging out!

We are having a blast just spending time with our little man. He is starting to be awake more during the day...not enough to sleep all night, but he is slowly getting there. So, while he is awake we read stories, play on the activity mat, and have tummy time! Ayson does really great on his tummy. He has been able to turn his head from one side to the other since we brought him home from the NICU, but I have yet to capture it on video...as soon as I do, I will post it :)

Happy little guy!

What a beautiful day!

After what seemed like a month of rain and no sun, we finally have some beautiful weather in T-town :) We couldn't let it go to waste, so we took little man for his first stroll around the neighborhood. It is a little cool, so we put him in his bunting, which is HUGE on him, and headed out! He loved it! Hopefully we will have some more great fall days before Oklahoma winter sets in.

It's not too big...right?!

Ays and Daddy getting ready for our walk

Not too sure about the stroller at first

Here we go!

Awake and happy after our adventure

Happy Due Date!

Today was Ayson's official due date! So, for developmental milestones, we are finally at day zero. What this means is that if a baby is typically supposed to be able to roll over at 5 months, Ayson will be expected to do that at 7 months old. Its kind of confusing, but some things go by his actual age, like immunizations, and others, like milestones, will go by his corrected age. So, in celebration of his due date, he checked out his activity mat..He likes to look at himself in the mirror that hangs in the center :)

He also had several visitors. Great Grandparents Mamo & Dado came to visit this afternoon. The last time they saw Ayson he was still in an Isolette in the NICU, so they couldn't believe how much he had grown!

They brought Ayson a very special gift made by Mamo, Grammy, Rilla and Verlee. It is absolutely beautiful and something he will have forever! It looks great in his room too! We love it!!!!

Mimi and Bruce also came to visit tonight. It was great to see them, as always, and they even stayed with Ayson so I could run a few errands. Thanks guys!

Relaxing :)

Ayson is all ready for Monday Night Football! Hopefully he will stay awake, so he will sleep tonite...haha, yea right!

Today was a rainy, cold day in Tulsa, so mommy and Ayson stayed snuggled in. We are missing daddy, he has been working long hours this week already. But, Ayson is looking forward to seeing Great Grandparents Dado & Mamo, and also Mimi and Bruce tomorrow!

Go Pokes!

The Pokes won today...thanks to the support of a very little fan :) Ayson was all decked out in his OSU gear for the game! Grammy and Pops came down to watch the game with us, then Pops got to spend some quality time with little man while Grammy and I did some shopping. We had a great day!!!!

Great Grandma JoAnne made this blanket for Ayson...perfect for game days! He doesn't like to keep his arms in the swaddle, so this is how he lays. Hilarious!

All tuckered out after the game :)

First Pediatrician Visit

Ayson had his first visit with his pediatrician, Dr. Gordon, today. It also counted as his two month check-up, and we know what that means...SHOTS! He got his first round of immunizations today, and I'm not sure if it was more traumatic for him or for mom! Angela warned me that it would be tough, but I just kept thinking that it couldn't be any worse than watching them start an IV on him in the NICU. His little scream melted my heart...and those needles are unnecessarily big! Ok, enough of that :)

He has passed the 6lb mark! His weight was 6lbs 1.5 oz, and his length was 18 1/4in. Milk does a baby good! He is still small for his age, but he is starting to move up the growth chart. On an adjusted scale (because he was two months early) his head is in the 41st percentile, length is in the 7th percentile, and weight is in the 16th percentile. Dr. Gordon is pleased with his growth and the older he gets, the more he should move up those charts.

And finally, Ayson has a question...he wants to know when he can meet his new best friend, Asher David Weston! We are so thrilled for our friends Kelly & Jessica, as they welcomed their new little guy into the world today. We can't wait to get the two boys together!

Look at those eyes!

Our little man was 8 weeks old yesterday. It's hard to believe that he is 8 weeks old and just now fitting into newborn clothes! We have officially outgrown all of our preemie outfits! Yea! He is definitely growing. We will find out just how much growing he has done tomorrow at his first pediatrician appointment.
He is doing great at home, and loving all of his new things! Mom and dad are a little sleepy because he has his days and nights mixed up! He likes to sleep during the day and keep us company at night. I'm beginning to wonder if the NICU nurses kept him up at nights :) Oh well, if you have to be awake at 3:00 am, who better than to spend it with, than Mr. Bright Eyes.

Our two boys :)

This just cracks me up! No, Max isn't trying to eat Ayson, but it sure looks like it! Ayson was fed up with picture time and Max jumped in the shot and started yawning.
Never a dull moment at our house anymore :)

First Bath at Home!

Ok, so in the excitement of giving Ayson his first bath at home, we forgot to get any pictures until it was over. So, this is the aftermath. You would never know it, but he actually likes baths...not so much getting out :)
